Whether it’s an old/new photo tell everyone what the picture is about, where the business started, how the business inspired you, what you learned etc. Basically, tell everyone what’s on your heart and just go for it.
Why are you doing this?
People refer to mom and pops as a dying race but we consider it a “forgotten race.” We wanted to bring everyone together to share their story to let the big guys know that you’re not going anywhere. Most small business networks consider a small business, one that makes $5-10 million a year when in truth most are lucky to make 1 million a year. So we are taking a stand to separate ourselves and take on the “mom and pop category” while inspiring others around the world. Take the stand with us.
Do I have to be a family business to submit a story and photo?
No not at all. The term “Mom and Pop” doesn’t mean a mom and dad own it, it means “small business.” So no matter what business you have, you have a story to tell.

Can I share the stories and photos that are featured on here?
Actually, we hope you do! If you read a story that you love then send it to a friend or post it on Facebook. Everyone who submits a story wants to inspire at least one person and it might just be you. Just please don’t change or edit any of the stories or photos.
Do I have to submit my name and website information with the story?
Completely up to you. If you just want to sign your name and not leave information then you can definitely do that. Some would rather remain unknown while still sharing their story.
Can I submit any photo?
Absolutely! We encourage a creative photo or even an old one that has a story to it. Most photos tell a story with just one glance at it. Keep it clean and have fun with it (also all photos submitted we approve before we post them).
Can I take a photo and write my message like the official photos?
We would love for you to. Just write your message (we recommend the white board marker that comes write off!), take the photo and send it over. Don’t worry, we can edit the photo and make it look snazzy. Once we post it, we will send it right back over to you. Just send the photo to iamamomandpop(at)gmail.com
